Abstract: 

Background & Aim: Family-centered care, which has become the cornerstone for pediatric nursing practice, supports the integrity of child and family health. It brings families a unique care and improves child and family health. Families are recognized as an essential part of a specialized child care during illness. They are expected to be skilful in child care both in and out of health care facilities. This study was carried out to determine health caregivers’ attitude toward parent participation in the care of their hospitalized children at Madani pediatric hospital- Khoramabad in 2004.Methods & Materials: This is a descriptive-analytical study. One hundred and sixty nine caregivers were selected through convenient sampling method. Data were gathered using a questionnaire including demographic and parents’ attitude questions. The questionnaire had 36-item. The data were analyzed via SPSS computer software and using descriptive and analytical methods.Results: Results indicated that the average of participants’ attitude score was 92.28±12.55. Most of subjects had neutral attitudes toward parents’ participation in their children’s care. Positive attitude were significantly related with marital status (P<0.04), having children (P<0.04) and being a nursing student (in comparison with medical students) (P=0.04).Conclusion: The caregivers’ attitudes toward parents’ participation in the care of their hospitalized children were neutral. The students’ and staffs’ attitudes should be modified by taking part in continuous training programs.

Abstract: 

Introduction: All experts of development, especially rural development emphasize the villager’s participation in rural development. They consider development of the village to be impossible without villagers’ participation and believe that any improvement should begin from the villagers themselves and all people must participate in it. Development should meet social, cultural, ethical etc, needs; this way development plans receive attention and people’s participation in different stages is attracted. Accordingly, the administrative staff staying in villages are on the hand reciprocal collective identity systems expressing old and new collective identities using crucial cultural and symbolic elements and on the other hand are mediators who bring the villages needs and requirements to the public thus setting the grounds to express their problems. Taking this approach, the present study aims at investigating the role of social-economic participation of administrative staff staying in the villages of Hamoon parish.

Abstract: 

Background and Aim: Children healthcare is one of the most important aims of family-centered cares that cause children and family health promotion. Positive attitude of healthcare staff is essential to have parent effective participation in hospitalized children cares. This study was done to evaluate children hospital staff attitude, toward parent participation in physical and psychological cares for their hospitalized children.Methods: This descriptive study was performed on 100 medical staff of Qom children hospital and samples were chosen by convenience sampling method. Data were collected by using questionnaires, including two parts: population specifications and parent participation in hospitalized children cares. Structured questionnaire was designed using a Likert scale with 5 categories ranging from, “completely agreement” to “completely disagreement”. Validity of scale was determined by content validity, and inner correlation method of Cronbach's alpha (R=0.82) was used for reliability of scale. Data were analyzed by SPSS software.Results: Scores average and scale deviation (SD) of hospital staff attitude was 94.67±10.96 that is categorized in neutral group. There were no significant relationship between attitude score with age, gender, marital status and education stand.Conclusion: positive attitude of healthcare staff is essential to have family effective participation in hospitalized children cares; so with continuing education courses and health care reform guidelines on children and hospital staff should take part in continuous training programs.

Abstract: 

Purpose: In this research, we want to study staff social participation, and its related factors, amongst librarians of Tabriz public libraries. Methodology: This is a survey. The research population includes all 155 librarians from Tabriz public libraries. Data was collected using a researcher- made questionnaire. The validity of the questionnaire is confirmed by experts, and its reliability was measured by Cronbach's alpha. Data analysis was performed using the SPSS software package. Findings: Results show that the level of social participation amongst the staff of Tabriz public libraries is at a medium level. Findings also show an inverse correlation between social participation and the two variables of "interpersonal trust" and "social alienation", but a direct correlation between social participation and "reward motives". There is no statistical correlation between "institutional trust" and "the socio-economic status of the librarians" . There is a significant correlation between social participation and the basic variables such as gender so that the social participation of male librarians is more prevalent than that of female librarians. All in all, a combination of individual and social elements is involved in the construction of the theoretical model, based on behavior and participation theories. Based on these findings, the significance of social participation is strongly recognized by the research community. The clarification coefficient in regression equation is on a low level, so it seems that we need some other illustrative variables to explain the levels of social participation. We should also take the analysis level further than micro, and macro levels, and consider effective macro variables related to social participation from outside library organizations. Originality/value: By paying attention to the importance of social participation in the cultural, social and economic development of a society, library staff due to their high levels of communication with large groups of students, teachers, scholars and the general public, can play a key role in this regard. This study is the first of this kind of research.

Abstract: 

This paper aimed at studying the relationship between staff participation and organizational health in state-run boy high schools in Tehran. A researcher-made staff participation questionnaire and the Organizational Health Inventory were administered to 147 high school teachers. They were selected through stratified random sampling. Descriptive statistics indices (such as frequency, percentile, and mean), Pearson coefficient of correlation, and Regression analysis were calculated. The findings showed that there was a significant positive relationship between staff participation and organizational health of the state-run boy high schools in Tehran. Furthermore, Regression analysis was used to predict organizational health in these high schools through the components of staff participation. The result indicated that two components of participation in change and participation in problem solving could be considered as the predictive variables in order to be used in the final regression equation to explain the variations in organizational health among state-run boy high schools in Tehran.

Abstract: 

Whereas many researches have been done for study worker participation, relationship between workers, antecedents and outcomes and effect of worker representation on persons and organizations, but a little research have been done to study the effect of development-centered work councils on job satisfaction and vitality. Thus is aim of this research survey the effect of dedelopment-centered work councils on job satisfaction and vitality in staff. Research is quasiexperimental design with control group. The research samples consisted of 30 workers who were randomly selected and have been to experiment at group (15) and control group (15). At start of research, with using 2 Questionaires Vitality and Job satisfaction between experiment and control group were examined. Data was collected with Deci & Ryan & Keshavarz Vitality Inventory, Smith Job-satisfaction Index. Data was analyzed with SPSS-15 for 7 meetings. Programs in work councils about vitality, Job satisfaction and Self-development between experiment groups were done and in the end of councils for again Vitality and Job satisfaction were examined. Result showed that there was meaningful differences between two groups in filed of Job Satisfaction and Vitality. The finding revealed that, participation in work councils was effective in increasing Job-satisfaction and Vitality was effective (p<0.01).

Abstract: 

BACKGROUND: One of the most important causes of psychological problems is the loss of life expectancy. Life expectancy plays a very important role in mental health, quality of life and self-esteem. This research was conducted to investigate the relationship between public sports and life expectancy in the staff of Kurdistan University of Medical Sciences, Sanandaj, Iran. METHODS: Using Krejcie-Morgan table, 369 individuals were selected via random sampling. Data were collected using standardized physical activity questionnaire of Bahram and Shafizadeh, and life expectancy questionnaire of Snyder and Forsyth. Data analysis was performed using Kolmogorov-Smirnov, binomial, Mann Whitney U, and Spearman correlation coefficient tests. RESULTS: Men's participation rate in general and recreational activities was higher than that of women employees. However, the rate of life expectancy for staff of Kurdistan University of Medical Sciences was not favorable. CONCLUSION: Based on the results of the present study, it is suggested to the officials and managers of Kurdistan University of Medical Sciences to promote sports and recreational programs in order to increase the level of life expectancy in the staff.
